what is the best video editing set up for desktop computer?
I'll probably go with final cut X, although may run something else on the same mac.
My worry is more about the hardware and the storage.
Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.7), apple hd cinema monitor
Best Value - Mac mini, Quad i7 with 16GB of RAM (don't buy from Apple, install it yourself).
If you need a monitor - 27'' iMac, BTO it depending on your personal needs.
Don't buy a Mac Pro. They're overpriced and underpowered. Wait till WWDC 2013 if you want to buy a Pro.
The best desktop would be the new Macpro $$$
Second would be an iMac $$
Third would be a Mac mini $
It really all depends on how long the videos are going to be and if you are editing in SD, HD or 4K.
