Question - Log & Transfer / reconnect
Nevermind...
Nevermind...
Well, as my first question had a very obvious answer here is another thing that has popped up:
I am recapturing files usiing log and transfer....
WIth some files I get this message:
An item outside of your current selection has been found to reference media about to be processed during this operation...
add / continue / abort
What does this mean and what should I do???
I've gotten this message (but not recently) and always chosen "add" and never seen any issues. Never understood what it meant either so I anxiously await a definitive answer.
Is the card or card backup mounted? And did you add the folder to the L&T interface?
When recapturing media, you use BATCH CAPTURE...and use L&T just to remind FCP where the media is.
I've seen this with SD DV footage that I've "batch captured." As I've said, it's been at least a few years since I've seen it. These days I usually just keep everything online.
I've seen this a lot with tape, never seen it with tapeless.
so Shane, the all knowing, can you explain exactly what it means and what happens if you choose "add" or "continue?" I've always figured there was nothing that could be bad about hitting "add." Think I can figure out what happens when you choose "abort."
Something in the back of my head thinks that this may have something to do with media that's referenced by multiple projects, but that may just be a foolish thought.
I always hit ADD...just in case. But it's been a while since I worked with tape and got that error.
Well, i selected my clips, and chose batch capture and the L & T window pops up. I added the missing volumes and then it transfers the missing footage.
This is all footage from XDcams, non is from tapes...
Yeah, I always try to add the media first, just point FCP to where the media is...remind it. THen do batch capture. But, your way works too. Hit ADD...no harm I dont think.
Most of the footage was indeed captured but those red exclamation marks were left in the queue...
OK, so select Continue instead of add fixes the problem...
Then Continues is what works.
Hi Shane,
I have a question in regaurds to log and transfer on fcp7 as well.
I recently upgraded my computer and got a mac book pro 0sx mountainlion.
Ive been trying to log and transfer my footage from a panasonic hvx200 p2 card direct from camera through firewire. The footage comes up and plays and looks good in the log and transfer mode but when I actually go through with the transfer and proceed to put the clip on my timeline they are looking a little bit wavey along with glich lines appearing.
any idea as to why this is happening and how I can fix it?
Go into the Log and Transfer prefs. Uncheck REMOVE PULLDOWN. Reimport the footage. Try that.
