the CAPS-lock delay feature/bug is extremely annoying. how do i disable it, permanently?
Apple should provide an option in Keboard Preferences to enable/disable the CAPS-lock delay. i am a touch typist, so the keyboard delay is like a speed bump, it slows me down and i often end up typing in the wrong case after pressing CAPS-lock.

the workaround is to change the CapsLock modifer key to 'No Action' in Keyboard Prefs, Press OK, then immediately re-enable it again. that will get rid of the annoying CapsLock delay temporarily, for that logon session, but the fix does not persist across reboots. i want to permanently disable the CapsLock delay, without having to resort to 3rd party applications, scripts, etc.
please re-read my question more carefully. i do not want to disable CAPS-lock—i want to get rid of the delay after pressing it.
System Preferences > Keyboard > Modifier Keys
From the dropdown click the popup widow for "Caps Lock Key".
Select "No Action".
