How can I set a repeatable voice mail reminder for missed calls that repeats every 15 minutes until answer it?

This is a work phone - so I need to be able to return missed calls. I do NOT carry it with me constantly - for example, I don't take it with me when I shower, run out to get the mail, etc. I turn off the sound during movies, funerals and at church. I sometimes don't have a signal driving to and from work. I cannot find a way to make it blink or beep when I have a voice mail waiting - like I can on my cheap personal non-smart phone. I beep is better than a blink, but either is better than nothing. This is a real issue for me.

If Apple doesn't have this functionality (which seems totally strange) is there a third-party app that would do it?

Not really. I have to dig the phone out of my purse, or walk over and push the button to see if there is a missed call in order to see the numbers. I suppose I could do that everytime I leave a shopping mall, get out of the shower, have dinner in a noisy restaurant, etc. but the beep on my personal cell phone makes this constant attention to the phone unnecessary.

I have the iPhone as we are testing to see if iPhones are a better alternative for our folks who are on call 24x7 than the current blackberry phones. I missed a call last night from someone who couldn't VPN into the network and needed help. Unfortunately we were having dinner in a noisy place, the phone was in my purse as my dress didn't have pockets, and I didn't hear it. Then I forgot to check it when we left and I got the message this morning. :-( It seems to me the option of being able to get a repeatable voice mail reminder beep would be useful for a lot of people. Those who don't need one could turn it off.

No beep might be ok if this was a personal phone - but I'm not sure it will work for support staff.

There are no settings on the iphone itself to have repeat alerts like the text message.

If you don't carry your work phone all the time, you could use the call forwarding feature and have it forward to your personal phone during the off hours.

My iphone is both for personal and work. We use an exchange account, but I don't use the push notification. So I have to manually check my work email, usually before bed and when I get up.

I have changed my voice mail message to state that there is no reminder alert if there are voice mail messages waiting, so although the caller can leave a message if it is an emergency the caller needs to keep trying until they reach me. I gather from the message boards that there are repeat reminders for text messages - just not voice mail. But since this is a work phone and they have blocked texting, that's not an option for me. Otherwise, I would just till them to send me a text.

I use GoogleVoice for my voice mail rather than my carrier's VM. One of the features of GoogleVoice is that, when you someone leaves you a VM, it will send you a text. I have my text messages set to remind me 5 times. The maximum is 10. Because I have both a personal and a work phone, being able to use the same VM for both is very convenient. I can also check it from any web browser.

The instructions for how to set up the VM for your phone (you still use your phone number) are in the GoogleVoice help pages. I believe GoogleVoice is a U.S. only service.

Well, it has been a few years since this was posted, but I just had the problem. I found the following solution for my iPhone 6:

Settings > Notifications > Phone: Set the "Alert Style" to "Alerts." This puts an alert on your lock screen and keeps it there until you do something about it. I haven't tested it to see how long the alert persists. But it goes up when the voicemail notification is received by the phone.
