FCPX won't import XDCAM BPAV folders. Any suggestions?

An FCP 7 user, I'm testing FCP X for the first time. Installed the trial version, created & named an event, ready to go. Attempted to import XDCAM EX BPAV files first from an SDHC card via USB without success. Then attempted to bring in a BPAV folder I had on one of my internal hard drives from a previous project with the same result: "Some files cannot be imported into Final Cut Pro. Only supported files will be imported if your continue. The following files are not supported:" --and then it lists every file on the card.

The only thing I haven't tried is returning the card to the camera and attempting to transfer via a USB cable, but even if it worked, why shouldn't I be able to import files directly from the card?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Thanks for the suggestion but that video was for MTS files, not BPAVs. I'm perplexed because FCP X documentation says that the XDCAM EX should work fine. Until I discover a more elegant solution, I ran across this one: I downloaded a free program called Content Browser ( http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/contentbrowser1 ). Read the manual, of course, but basically you import the BPAV folder, then select the clips intended for FCP X in the Explorer window in Content Browser, go under the Content Browser Clip Menu and select "Import to Final Cut Pro" --it was pretty straightforward from there.

This can't be the easiest method, but it's working.
