restore dowload corruption

I was updating my iPad to ios 6.1 and when it finished the screen displayed the Itunes symbol and rge USB cord. I plugged it into my PC and was told on my computer screen that I needed to use restore. After folowing the instructions, I got an error message stating that the download was corrupt. Can you help me get this issue resolved so that I can use my iPad?
