I've followed the instructions to re-enable apple supplied Java SE 6 following upgrade to version 7 which caused a number of applications to stop working.

I wondered if anyone has had any joy re-enabling JAVA SE 6. I've tried contacting Apple but cannot get any response. They've sent me back default messages claiming that they have tried to contact me - they haven't! I'd be grateful for some help with this. Thanks

No working Java plugin is available at the moment. You have to wait for an update from either Oracle or Java. You should expect this problem to be recurrent, so plan to eliminate network Java from your workflow permanently.

I am aware that Java 7 and later versions will not work but there must be a way of rolling back to the previous version provided by Apple. Has anyone done this with any success?

The previous version won't work. It has been disabled by a security update because it's a wide-open orifice for malware to enter. There is no working Java plugin at the moment. That situation may or may not change in the next few days.

How were you even able to input your admin password...both my wife and I were unable to even input our passwords to complete the instructions...we use Java for a chat room were I am a moderator....I too got no response for Apple on this...has anyone been successful ?????
