Jun 17, 2014 3:38 AM in response to ashtonnicole9by roryobryan,My Solution to this problem was to remove all contacts from my iPhone 4, As it seems to be impossible to fix this issue on a phone that doesnt have Siri.
Then I exported all my contacts from the Mac Contacts app into a PDF and then saved that to my phone as a last resort. If you need to use a number from here you need to copy and paste it into the phone dialler (press the white area above the keypad to paste).
Then the most frequently used few numbers I put in a note in the notes app. You can click numbers in notes and select call to call them.
A stupid work around, but there are no other choices on the iPhone 4 other than to buy a new phone, or try to downgrade to iOS 7.0.

Jun 19, 2014 6:13 PM in response to Markhamsfordby rover2rover,BTY, I am using a Verizon 5C CDMA A1532
So, if I am understanding this, the solution to no Voice Control is:
1. To have Siri "ON" in the Settings/General/Siri area.
2. To have the Passcode "ON" (with the "immediately" option chosen) in the Settings/Passcode area, with the Passcode sub-heading "ALLOW ACCESS WHEN LOCKED" -- "Siri" turned "OFF".
And so, after you "slide to unlock" the phone, if you do not then wish to have enter a passcode, then this solution is not an option.
BTY, there was some confusion on my part when following instructions given in this thead that said to go to "Settings" then "General" then "Passcode", because, on my 5C, under the Main Settings, you don't go into the "General" area first to get to Passcode, you instead, from the Main Settings Menu, scroll directly down to "Passcode".

You might be the one who is confused.
In IOS 6.x the Passcode option is indeed in Settings > General > Passcode
In IOS 7.x the Passcode option's position has changed as you've noticed to Settings > Passcode.

Jul 14, 2014 8:59 PM in response to roryobryanby khoamatk,I'm using IOS 7.1.1 so my phone has a different notion that I recently want to provide and share with you guys. My phone is usually and randomly turn on by itself. Furthermore, my phone is getting activated with voice control all the time. I cannot believe that it turn on and activate with "voice control" by itself. Moreover, when it activate with voice control, it itself turn on music and starting Facetime connecting with others whether there is having WIFI or not. At this case, I really get bored

Feb 6, 2015 1:31 PM in response to ashtonnicole9by theKentzerGroup,I dislike Voice Control. I activated it once form home screen, left the phone alone to see what would happen, and it ended up FaceTime dialing a random contact on my phone. It must have heard some background noise, a TV for example, but this does not matter because for sure the fact is : your phone decides to make video calls without the owner acknowledging. And to not be able to disable this feature is a liability for Apple, at least I know I would make it one if that FaceTime call actually went through.

Apr 4, 2015 1:04 AM in response to theKentzerGroupby glacier518,I agree. I've had nothing but problems with voice control turning on by itself (even after Siri has been deactivated) - with TWO DIFFERENT phones (both 4S), so it's not a hardware issue.
I hate to say this, but Siri is a real b*itch in my opinion. What a jealous mistress! If you are disabled... leave us alone. It's over. Move on.
Apple, please fix this problem.

May 18, 2015 10:51 AM in response to ashtonnicole9by serge1985,I have THE solution. Not sure if it was answered. You can disable the Voice Control (not siri) by removing the voice control shortcut. Right now your phone is set to enter voice control when the home button is pressed 3 times in a row.
Go to Settings => General => Accessibility => Accessibility Shortcut => Unselect VoiceOver.
No more embarrassing phone calls. I had the same problem with my iPhone 4.

VoiceOver is not and has nothing to do with Voice Control.
