my iphoto is not working can you help me

My iPhoto has been working fine. Now it doesnt even have the right icon, it has a paper and a pencil and when i click to open it it says "You cant open the application "iPhoto" becasue it may be damaged or incomplete." Why does it say this? I had 3,000 pics did i lose them all? can this be fixed? BRAND NEW COMPUTER!!!
