I have a windws 7 computer, and that talks only about macs
Do you have a Windows 7 laptop? If so, it's probably still possible to make your own WiFi network right on the laptop without a router. Read this for details:

i do have a windows 7 laptop... i will try to get it to work
ok, it somewhat worked... i connected my ipod, but my computer disconnected from the wifi network that it was on... what do i do next???
Just connect your computer back to the WiFi network.
Something doesn't make sense here...if your laptop was connected to a WiFi network all this time, why couldn't your iPod just be connected to the same one? Did it not connect properly? It seems to me that you're going through a lot of extra work here...
