printing B&W in Numbers

I've been using Excel for years and years. I'm trying out number with an iMac I got from my folks. Excel lets me print a spreadsheet that has color boxes in B&W to save ink and time. I can't find a similar setting in Numbers. IS it just going to suck out ink every time I print? If so, I'm headed back to Microsoft products.

How Numbers printes depends on the selections YOU make in the print dialog box for your printer:

Hi DC,

telling the printer which cartridge(s) to use is a Printer instruction, set in the Print Dialogue. For my Canon IP series printer the setting is Greyscale, found in the Quality and Media item of the third pop-up menu in the dialogue. The dialogue is dependent on the printer driver being used, so yours may be in a different place, or under a different name.
