I'm getting static from my iPhone 5 when it's using WiFi

I'm using my iPhone 5 with the Peavey AmpKit link, and I get a lot of static when the phone is using WiFi - it goes away when I go into Airplane mode. This didn't happen with my iPhone 4 - is this something I need to bring my phone into the store for?
