Synching mail between iMac and iPad

Is it possible to sync my mail folders on my iMac with my iPad? In other words I want the same folders on both. Thanks

Only if your email account is an IMAP email account. If you have a POP account, the folders will not sync. The folders on your Mac may just be folders that you created in the mail app and they are for local storage on the Mac only and will not sync to the iPad.

If your email account is IMAP - the folders should sync with no user input from you once the mail account is setup on the iPad.

I think that I misled you because I worded my response incorrectly.

The folders that you set up in Mac Mail are for local storage only. If you set up the folders on the server - do it in your webmail in a browser - those folders will sync to the iPad, but the ones that you set up in the Mac mail client will not sync - unless they are the folders that were on the server.

That's how it should work anyway. Setup a test folder on the server and see if it syncs to the iPad, it should. Mine do.
