I get a window saying - not enough extra media beyond clip edges. there is plenty of film either side of where l want to add the transtn. So what is going wrong?
I have successfully added transtns on other parts of same project.
how do i get over this?
lm using FCP X

Double click on the edit point. This will open the Precision Editor. Post a screen shot of what you see.
How do l take a screen shot??
Its ok I found out it there was a tiny piece of clip inbetween clips so l deleted it and now l can add the transtn.
Shift-Cmd-4 will turn the cursor into crosshairs. Drag a box around the area you want to capture. The image is saved on your desktop.
