You're best off just sitting tight. I've read a few articles posted in various media that it is expected that Apple will probablly have a fix ready soon. I think it would be wise for you to check for updates through Apple software updates on a daily basis.
Apple intentionally disabled Java 6 and since they are out of the Java development side now I doubt that 10.6 will ever get Java back. Best bet is to update to 10.8, really (and then try Java 7 from Oracle/java.com), though there are workarounds to kill off the Xprotect changes Apple forced on everyone, both via Terminal commands or just deleting the xprotect.meta.plist file and unchecking the Automatically update safe downloads list box under Security in System Preferences. However, this 'quick and easy' fix will prevent Apple's malware list from getting updates normally, so could leave the system unsecured.
