Avi burn on iDVD

Hi I have iDVD 7.1.2 and OSX mountain lion.

I am trying to burn .AVI movie files to DVD but its not working. Ive followed numerous you tube / apple processes to complete this, but it either does not burn anything to DVD (depsite the process completing on iDVD ) or i get a green screen ?

Can you do this in iDVD ?

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Hi

iDVD is picky in regard to what Video-Codec it can use (or not).

.avi, .wmv, .mp4 etc are NO CODEC - they are Containers and can hold Video-Codecs that works with iDVD or not.

Open Your .avi file (container) with QuickTime-player

Then open Inspector [cmd+I]

Then read -

• Video Format (Codec) : nnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

• Frames per second : yyyyyyyyyyy

WHAT does they read ?
