Feb 1, 2013 10:21 AM in response to mahaffby Bengt Wärleby,Hi
iDVD is picky in regard to what Video-Codec it can use (or not).
.avi, .wmv, .mp4 etc are NO CODEC - they are Containers and can hold Video-Codecs that works with iDVD or not.
Open Your .avi file (container) with QuickTime-player
Then open Inspector [cmd+I]
Then read -
• Video Format (Codec) : nnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
• Frames per second : yyyyyyyyyyy
WHAT does they read ?
Yours Bengt W

Feb 1, 2013 12:01 PM in response to mahaffby Old Toad,Try installing Perian 1.2.3 and them try opening the file with QT Player. You might also download and install QuickTime Player 7 for Mac OS X v10.6.3 or later as it offers features that QT Player 10 doesn't.

Mar 9, 2015 5:18 PM in response to Old Toadby lurice0,I had the green screen, too. Just downloading and installing Perian like Old Toad said seems to have done the trick for me. Plus now i always preview the avi in iDVD now before i do anything further.
