I want to connect my I mac for streaming video to my TV I have connected the minidisplay port to dvi conector and then to my hdmi port of the TV the video does not relay what can be done?

If you haven't already, to enable the connection you need to go into your Applications folder>System Preferences>"Displays">in that window click on the "Display" tab>then "check" the box at the lower left hand side of the window that reads "Show mirroring options in the Menu Bar When Available". That should do it:
