Intermittent connection

Hi All,

I have an PPC iMac running OSX 10.5.9. Recently I've been having trouble with it connecting to my Netgear router. I know the router is working as I have other devices that can connect to my wireless network no problem.

Sometimes I'll get a strong connection and then it just drops to nothing. Other times it won't connect at all.

Is it due to the fact I'm running an older version of OSX?

Would a possible solution be to run an ethernet cable from the router to the iMac? They sit right next to each other so proximity is no issue. Also, I don't need it to be a particularly speedy connection. Just reliable.

Appreciate any advice.

The Ethernet connection would be far better in both speed and reliability than WiFi.

The fact you're running OS X 10.5.8 wouldn't make any difference in WiFi signal. I run an old Power Mac G5 and it has no issues.
