Anyway to share iTunes but not have our devices share other info?

I have an iPhone and my husband has an iTouch. We want to share an iTunes account so we can share music. However, whenever he adds a new app to his iTouch, it appears on my iPhone and visa versa. Is there anyway to keep sharing one without the other?
