Powerbook G4 connection issue and also no chime noise

Hi All

My powerbook had it's oriignal battery removed and was left for 24hours with no battery installed.

When I replaced the battery and booted the PB into 10.5.8, I fully expected the clock to be out of sync but also it didn't remember my WIFI network and it keeps prompting me with two things and should I accept incoming traffic or something (I have stealth set on my firewall).

Now for somereason each time I restart the PB it keeps forgetting my network and keeps asking be the same as above.

Secondly, and I think this was present before the network issue, I have no chime when I reboot.

I have tried the CTR ALT P & R and no joy and also tried taking the battery out unplugging the power adapter and holding the power button for 5 secs.

Can anyone help pls?
