We have home sharing bu my son cannot download a specific song, he keeps getting the message device is already associated...

We are using home sharing so he should be able to download the song again.
Have you exceeded the number of devices associated with the account as discussed in the article?
There are 4 devices. I am thinking he tried to download this before we set up the home share.

Maybe that is the problem.
I thought we could all "share" the purchases by setting up homw share on all our computers
