audio compression

i have an edited piece of multicam video. the audio is the same for all the cuts as i have a seperate audio track so none of the audio is beng used from the cameras themsleves. i would like to put a logic compressor on the entire audio track but it will only add the compressor to the individual pieces of the edits . when i drag it from the effects window and drop it on a file it only adds it to the file I dropped it on. how do i put a compressor across the whole audio track?

Make the project a compound clip Opt-G and apply the effect to the compound.

the thing is tom im a logic user so i am used to applying efects at the end of my edits. 2 things..... if i use an audio track other than the camera audio and then selct edit video clips only, why deos final cut make the audio cuts? this is the problem, I dont want the audio to be cut and 2. if i copy and pasre the effect i will end up with about 200 compressors because it creates a new effecty every time i paste it. is there no way to simply add the effect on the master bus of final cut so everything is compressed?

You're cutting the multicam clip, but the audio remains unchanged. Notice the difference in indicators between a video/audio cut and a video only cut.

If you're only using one audio track in the multicam clip, then open the angle editor for the multicam clip and apply the effect to the angle there. It will be applied to the whole angle wherever it's used.
