My side bar is blank and I don't know how I did it. Please can anyone help?

Check Finder Preferences>Sidebar, what all is checked there?

Thanks for that post as I did not realise there is a preference for the finder, you learn something every day). That will help no end. I did have the side bar but it was empty, although okay now, but I obviously did not go to it before. Don't know why it was empty but it is okay now, thanks again.
