After 10.8 installation keyboard backlit does not work

Hi.

Today i bought OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion and after installation, there was an update to 10.8.2 with restart needed. After that, my keyboard backlight does't work. In options for keyboard, there isn't backlit option. I try reset SMC and PRAM, but it doesn't solve my problem. Weird thing is that in WIN8 (bootcamp) it works properly. I do not know, how to restore my backlit. Is it possible without clean installation of OSX 10.8?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

I would run an Apple Hardware test to see if that picks up any meaningful information.

(You may have to press OPTION - D to start.)

If not, then a reinstall of the OS or a trip to an Apple store.

HW test doesn't help. Today I installed 10.8 onto formated HDD, doesn't help. Next I installed clean OSX 10.6 from original DVD and voila, backlit is working. I thinkg it must be a SW problem.

Good video. Your success with Snow Leopard reinforces my personal opinion that it is the most efficient and stable OS from Apple. I have it as my primary system on my other two MBPs.

Will you be installing Mt. Lion now? If so please let me know if your problem reoccurs. I would be interested in the result.

Yes. Today I upgraded directly 10.6 to 10.8 from AppStore. Problem reocurs. Backlit doesn't work. This is first time I am really ****** off because Apple. After three years of using MBP. That makes me very very sad.

I do not have a solution as such for you. What you might do is make an external boot HDD with Snow Leopard on it and see if this phenomenon is repeated when you boot to it. If so, I would take the MBP and the external HDD to an Apple store and demonstrate it to them.
