Unable to sync calendar and contacts

I have an Ipod, where I changed the settings to ICloud, not knowing exactly what I was doing. Now when I sync to Itunes, it happily puts on photos and music, but does nothing to sync the Outlook calendar and Outlook contacts. The screen says it automatically is syncing from Icloud, but nothing happens. Obviously I have tried changing the settings, but that doesn't help.

Perhap I should delete Iclouds and get onto ordinary Ipod. But don't know how to do that.

Any suggestions or help? I use Windows XP.
