i have ipad 1st edition, and all my apps are becoming unuseable cos they need updating...how the heck do i do this, cos i cant find out anywhere?! if i go into my local Apple store, can someone do this for me? practically every app now needs ios 4 or 5....not a clue what they are anyway, just know its becoming less and less a pleasure to use!!! 😟 somebody help!!!

You can update your iPad 1 to iOS 5.1.1 using iTunes on a PC/Mac. Have you been syncing your iPad to a particular computer using iTunes? If so that would be the one to use.
no, i havent even used itunes yet!!! i clicked onto the above options in the answer above, but on the 'General' option on the settings...i dont even have the white box in the menu that says 'update software'!!!

You must update using iTunes. You cannot update to iOS 5.1.1 from the device. Read:

well, after installing itunes on my desktop, just nso i can update the ****** ipad 1....it dont say anywhere where or instructions on how to do it....am i missing something somewhere, cos im defo not blind!!!!
there was an option to get a ring back, to talk to someone about it....for a charge of $19 wth ?!!!?
