Clarifying: Trouble watching tv shows on new iPad

I apologize for not being specific enough and for not being as tech savvy as those of you who replied to my question are.

The tv shows we watch on the Mac are from the networks' websites, not purchased through iTunes. I should have made that clear at the beginning. I checked and it looks like we have the Adobe Flash Player plug-in on the Mac. Are there any apps for the iPad that can help us have the same access to the tv shows we watch? Or should we subscribe to Hulu+ or Netflix? We have up our satelllite service months ago and are tring to find a less expensive way of watching tv shows that we want to watch when we want to watch them.

Thank you for your patience, assistance, and guidance.

For free "over the air" networks - meaning non cable programming, ABC and NBC both have free apps that stream virtually all of their TV Shows. As far as I know, CBS still does not have an app that shows more than just episode clips. CNN, PBS, TNT, TBS, Fox News, CBS News, ESPN... All have apps that stream some sort of content.

Start by looking at some of those. Without knowing exactly what you want to watch, those apps should give you a pretty good starting point anyway. And by the way, all of those apps above are free.
