Which Mac should I buy? Im thinking about the Mac Mini, but I'm not sure...

I really want to buy a Mac but I'm not sure which is the best for me. I don't edit videos or pictures, not a heavy gamer either. I will have a few heavy programs such as Peachtree and Photoshop for the occasional photo edits. I dont want another PC... Please help

The new mac minis are pretty sweet. I use a mini (older model) just as a server where I don't need a monitor or keyboard or any prehiperals other than hard drives. I prefer to do most of what I do on my Macbook Air, though. Its so light and ultra-portable and easy to move about throughout the house.

But, if you prefer to sit down at the same desk in the same room and don't intend to ever leave the house, you should look at the Mac Mini and the iMac as options.

Either one is fine for what you are using it for. It comes down to personal preferece. They will both run photoshop just fine.

Personally, if it was my computer desk, I would get an iMac, because it is a sleek and fully integrated solution. I would get it with a magic trackpad instead of the magic mouse though. You can do more guestures with the trackpad.

I already have a mini, which is a great server. I might upgrade it someday, when the current model with USB3 ports is cheaper to get used.

If you already have a monitor, keyboard, and mouse, then maybe the mini is more cost effective, but it isn't quite the same experience with non-apple peripherals.

I think the iMac is far better choice as opposed to piecing a mac together with a mini and some spare pc parts. Part of the experience is the way the system is designed and works together as a whole system.

One of my favorite parts about my macs is the trackpad and how sensitive and integrated it is with osx. If you go with the mini, you should at least get that much with it.

You might want to check if you are able to get accepted for financing.
