ejhaysagum, Did you get this resolved? l might be able to help you. But let me ask you a couple of questions? Are you trying to install on a windows computer or some hand held device, are you an administrator account? The info I would give you is going to remove old iTunes files, but I cannot be responsible for any music etc. So I'd suggest you have it backed up to CD disk or however you backup.

Oh thank you. And no I haven't yet. I'm installing it on my windows laptop. Yes I'm an administrator. And yea that's completely fine I've backed up everything on my iTunes. I've looked all over the Internet but everything I've seen meant I would have to mess around with files and I'm just not very good at that. Was there a simple way? If not its worth a try.

This is a simple way. Open the add/remove programs control panel and remove iTunes. Then go to Start>Search> For Files or Folders> All files and folders and type in iTunes. Before clicking Search go the More advanced options and put a check in> Search hidden files and folders. Then do a Search and delete them all.

Next download and install Windows Installer Clean up Utility

On the right where it shows Download Locations click Download@MajorGeeks. The file you'll be downloading and installing is msicuu.exe

Open Windows Installer Clean up Utility locate iTunes and remove it. Now try installing iTunes from Apples website, it should install.
