Connecting Mac to Epson PX 730WD

My new Epson Stylus Photo PX730WD was initially set-up to use ethernet/wireless connection. Although printing worked initially, after a Mac software update, it no longer saw the printer and I could not print. My Mac is connected over ethernet cable to a wireless router, printer is also connected over ethernet to the same router. Printing from other wireless macbooks and ipod/iPad worked okay.

After several attempts with new printer drivers, different versions, different sources, all to no avail, I found that if I unplug my Mac ethernet I can print via wireless connection, but when I connect the ethernet, the printer cannot be found. I set the service options to have wireless priority over ethernet, and I can now print wirelessly, even with the ethernet cable connected. But this downgrades my web browsing speed (Wireless versus ethernet).

My set-up now is ethernet connected, wireless turned off, so I have the speed of ethernet, and when I need to print, I turn on wireless. There must be a better solution, can someone provide further tips or help? Thanks so much for your reply.

If it were me, I would connect my system up opposite of yours. I would have my iMac connected to the router via ethernet cable, and not connect the printer to the router via ethernet. Instead, I would connect to the printer via WiFi. A quick check of this printer indicates it's pretty easy to connect via automatic WiFi setup.

(I'm sure others here will be able to help you connect to your printer when it's connected to the router via ethernet....I've no experience setting things up that way).
