cannot get lessons to download

I have been trying for about two weeks to get the free lessons that came with Garageband to download so my son can use them. I've been trying to download the acoustic guitar lessons. I can't get anything past the intro to download, even if I close all my other applications. I have plenty of memory left on mylaptop. About 507 GB, so it's not a capacity issue. I also have plenty of RAM, but I close the other apps anyway to try to speed it up. I am not having issues downloading any other things. Just these garageband lessons. I can't figure it out. Thanks.
