icons size slider gone?

Hi guys & girls

Use to be that I was able to open a folder and within the frame of the window a slider to change size of icons would be available, I use it to select the correct image of a series of images, and changing size helps alot to get the right one. For some reason it's not there anymore, not sure but I thinjk it's been missing since last update or 2 I'm using latest 10.8.2 any tips what to look for to correct, WHATEVER I did?
