How do I watch a dvd thats formated for windows on my mac?

Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.0.x)

If it's a "real" DVD-Video disc, it's not "formatted for Windows" (or anything) - it will just play on anything too. Even if it's a "burnt" disc in DVD-Video format, it will/should play on anything too.


Exactly what is on the disc? How was it produced? If it's NOT a DVD-Video format disc, does it contain a video data file? If so, what format is that in? Can you read the disc at all? Can you read the filename?
