I don't want any picture on my desktop. How do I make it go away?

With the new streamlined user interface you can't figure anything out anymore. In no place in the desktop preferences does it say "no photo" or "delete photo." I'm sure there is some clever three finger gesture to do this but I can't find it. The help is useless, just some loosy-goosy flow of conciousness drivel about expressing your personality. Where is my old easy to figure out finder. No help was needed. Everything was obvious. I guess obviousness isn't cool anymore. Now we need to be cute and clever.

PS. I'm actually using 10.8.2 but that isn't a community choice on this forum. Does that mean these forums aren't supported anymore?

Sigh... Please come back Steve. We miss you.

I'm using 10.6, which is where you are. For future information, 10.8 is here. Isn't there a way to choose one of the default Desktop patterns? Can't you just choose one of those in 10.8? (Steve was responsible for and approved of the current move towards the iOS style loosy-goosyness in OS X.)

Thank you. It didn't occur to me to look in the Apple folder for a general top level feature. I don't like Apple's taste in art so I rarely open that folder.

Ahh.. but when Steve was alive his reality distortion made me believe this loosy-goosyness on the Mac was a good idea. ;-) Now reality is slowly creaping back in and Apple is beginning to look like just another company with some decent but not especially miraculous products.
