My camcorder isn't connecting...?

I recently purchased a Canon Vixia HFM52 camcorder, and I'm having difficulty importing videos from it to my iMovie on my MacBook Pro. In December, I was able to import movies with no problem. But, now, my iMovie isn't automatically downloading my videos. The Canon device does show up in my Finder, but when I look through the folders within the Canon, I don't see any video files. If anyone would have any advice, it would be greatly appreciated.
