Graphics card suggestions?

Hi,

I have a 2008 3.2 GHz Mac Pro. I had originally upgraded the graphics card to the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB card, which now is no good. I need a new card but am wanting to sell the Mac Pro (10.5.8) and would like some opinions as to what very reasonallably priced card I can put in. Most of the discussions about video cards are about upgrading, but since I'm looking to sell, I just want it to work.

Any advice ?

You should check out OWC.com. If that doesn't work, then do a word search for "Other World Computing." They specialize in Mac Products and are way cheaper than buying directly from Apple. They offer line of high end and high quality products specifically geard for Apple/Mac machines of all types. I get my RAM chips from there because it's cheaper and really good stuff...

I went ahead and ordered the ATA Radeon HD 5770 after deciding to keep the Mac Pro and reading in these forums that it will work with my 2008. I've deceided to keep the computer and wanted a decent card afterall.

My question now is, how can I upgrade the OS to the minimum 10.6.4 (from 10.5.8) that is required to run the card without a functioning card in it.

I've appreciated the help I'm getting here. Thank you all.
