Messages app, Facebook constantly disconnecting

So, I set up my Facebook chat (jabber) in Messages and it was working fine... for like a month. Now, I get nothing but disconnects all day for the past week and it's driving me nuts. I'll connect, then about 10 seconds later it will disconnect. Sometimes the password prompt comes up even though the password is already stored in Keychain. I've tried removing the account and re-adding it through sys prefs, yet it still disconnects constantly.

Anyone have any advice on a fix?

HI,

I would check the Facebook web site to see if there is any info about them having trouble with their servers for "Chat".

On your Facebook Account Settings > Security there is something about "Unknown Browsers".

As Facebook Chat is designed to work in Browser the presumption seems to be that you will always login with the same browser.

It is possible that Facebook have not really considered the implications of people using the IDs with Jabber capable apps (despite the info pages on how to set things up).

It is possible that you need to "Allow" "Unknown Browsers" to allow other apps to access the Servers.

I don't use Facebook and my info comes from reading other posts here.
