Kernel Panic after installing 16 GB RAM in 2010 13" MacBook Pro

Hi

I have been having some problems with my 2010 13" MacBook Pro.

After installing 16 GB RAM, made by Corsair, I have had four Kernel Panics so far.

The thing is that the RAM are 1333 MHz, and my computer only takes 1066 MHz RAM. But I downclocked both the sticks to 1066 MHz, so it should work right? They also passed Memtest86, so I don't know what is wrong.

I also did a clean install of Mountain Lion, on a brand new hard drive, but I had another Kernel Panic.

Here is the latest log:

You need 1066 MHz RAM for your Mac. Install the old memory and check if you can use the Mac as usual.

However, your log is referring to the graphic card, too. As you have an integrated graphic card, it uses your RAM, so if after installing the old memory it works without any problem, return the memory and buy 1066 MHz memory. Your memory has got problems with the graphic card

In the interest of scientific factfinding, try taking one of the sticks out, and try starting again.

If it works, then your Mac will tolerate the "downclocked" RAM but doesn't like so much of it.

If it doesn't, then try with the other one. If it still doesn't, you're screwed and the RAM is unsatisfactory to the Mac.

My Mac works just fine. It's just that once in a while, it gets a Kernel Panic. Usually when I'm using Safari, or playing a video.

Getting a kernel panic once in a while is not my definition of "My Mac works just fine..."

You installed the incorrect ram. Get the ram specified for your computer. In theory ram should downclock to the computer's bus speed but in practice this does not always work, as you found out.
