i have two ipod touch 2nd gen and 4th gen that my children ''managed'' to lock (they forgot their password .....)

can you give the way to unlock them?

The only way to do that is to connect to iTunes and erase the data. If iTunes will not let you restore by prompting for the passcode, see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

if you can not plug into itunes go to your nearest apple store and ask for them to unlock it
