Phrenzy-

Check to be sure you can access the internet using Safari on the iPad. You may not have a good connection to your WiFi router. If that is a problem, try unplugging the WiFi router for a few seconds. Then reset the iPad's network at Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings. You may have to reconnect your iPad to WiFi.

If you do have access to the internet, is it possible your iPad is connected to a neighbor's WiFi that happens to have the same name? That happened to me a few weeks ago. There are a LOT of WiFi routers out there named Linksys!

Gerard1976-

I assume an i5 is a regular computer that prints using the printer's native printing language, not AirPrint.

If Tgara's suggestion does not solve your problem, your WiFi router may not be able to pass Bonjour data required by AirPrint. If that is the case, contact the router's manufacturer to see if there is a change to its setup or a firmware update that will solve the problem.

Gerard,

Try doing a reset on your iPad by holding Down the home and power buttons until the silver apple appears.

You might also check for a stuck print job. Press the home button twice to reveal the multitask bar and look to see if the air print icon shows. You might see you there with a red badge in the corner. If it is there, tap it and cancel any print jobs.
