MacPro video is garbled with lines and geometric shapes

What causes this and how can it be corrected?

In some cases, the garbling freeqes my computer.

In these instances I need to hard start my MacPro, which I hate to do.

MacBook Pro, iOS 6.1

If you have a MacPro which is a desktop tower computer, you need to post in their forum area.

If you your issue is appearing in a Macbook Pro (notebook), you need to provide us with the model of your Macbook Pro and which os version you are using. In the meantime check to see if the following articles apply to your model Macbook Pro (if that is what you really have) - MacBook Pro: Distorted video or no video issues. The affected computers were manufactured between approximately May 2007 and September 2008.

MacBook Pro (Early 2008): Dark bands showing intermittently on built-in display

MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010): Intermittent black screen or loss of video. Affected computers were manufactured between April 2010 and February 2011.
