The Update doesn't work

Hey everyone,

it says there is a update for my Mac Os X 10.6.8 called 'Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 12'

I did run the normal sofware update on my computer and I downloaded it directly from the apple support.

But nothing works. It always stops and says it cannot unpack and install the update.

current java version on my MacbookPro: JAVA SE 6 ; 1.6.0_37-b06-434 (64 and 32 Bit, whatever that means)

What is wrong?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Disconnect all peripherals from your computer.

Boot from your install disc & run Repair Disk from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.

Select your language.

Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.

Select Disk Utility.

Select the disk or volume in the list of disks and volumes, and then click First Aid.

Click Repair Disk.

Restart your computer when done.

Repair permissions after you reach the desktop-http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2963 and restart your computer. Try the Java update again. After the installation, repair permissions and restart your computer again.
