facetime wont connect after ios 6.1 system update

i updated to ios 6.1 at about 4:00 pm today and since then i have not been able to get facetiem to work. what happens is when i call somebody and they answer it just sits their and says connectiong but never connects.. i left my phone for a good 20 minuets and it still was waiting to connect. i had no problem befor updateing. does anybody know a soulution or am i stuck not using facetime?
