Motion 4 was working fine and the next thing i know i go there to open a file and nothing shows on screen and there's nothing in the library not even a library file on the hard drive. It crashed a few times, but I was able to see files in it and work on them. it's bizarre. do i have to uninstall and reinstall? have lion 10.7.5 Imac

It restored some of the library but didn't restore particle emitters, replicators, shapes, gradients, live fonts, and text styles. Any ideas?

hmm.. maybe reinstall of motion. You might want to uninstall first. www.digitalrebellion.com has a fcp uninstaller.

This just happened to me, tried to locate the "com.apple.motion.plist" file but it's nowhere to be found
Having the same problem, can't start a new project, and when i open an existing project the library etc isnt snowing. Basically motion isnt working properly
Any other ideas, besides uninstalling/reinstalling?
did you try using preference manager to delete your motion preferences?

Yeah i managed to find the "com.apple.motion.plist"
Turns out i was in the wrong folder, thats why it didn't show. Thank you so much for your help!
