When I connect my iPhone to itunes it tells me that i have to restore it, how can i not loose my pictures?

My phone was uncharged so when I plugged it in it showed me to plug it in to the computer and when i connected the iPhone to my computer it told me i had to restore it. I don't want to loose all of my pictures what can i do?

iPhone 3G, iOS 4.3.3
