Firmware update for original MacBook Air battery issue

I have an original MacBook Air and there is no firmware update to address the battery issue that is plaguing newer MacBook Air models. Where is a firmware update for my original MacBook Air? Any solutions? New battery?

My MacBook AIr functions only when connected to a power source despite my battery indicator showing 100% charge. When I disconnect the power source the MacBook Air dies and has to be reconnected to the power source and rebooted. Below is the power info obtained off "About this Mac":

The firmware update as described I would think might solve this issue, but is NOT indicated for an ORIGINAL MacBook Air...WHY NOT? Solution?
