My iPad won't turn on. It has a usb cord picture with an up arrow pointing to iTunes logo. I can't find my device in iTunes.

I have the same issue. I did a software update to my iPad. When I went to turn it on it wouldn't restart and now it is frozen with a picture of a USB cord with an up arrow directed to an iTunes logo.

I've connected to my computer but still have no luck.

Any other fixes / comments?

Force your iPad into Recovery Mode

1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.

2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.

3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.

4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.

Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

Try:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- Try on another computer

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

In some cases this can be alleviated by connecting the device to Apple Configurator instead of iTunes.
