Q: How do I shutdown my OS X server after I started it and have it running

Hi

I recently downloaded the OS X server app from the Mac AppStore and I tested it out but found that it wasn't what I needed at this time and I decided I wanted to delete it but I don't know how. If anyone knows how to shutdown the server so no one can connect and it is no longer on my computer I will be very thankful.

Xserve, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

As far as I know this isn't possible.

You can turn off all services but I dont think you can remove the server part of your OS.

At least there is no simple way to do so.

Assuming you are referring to Mac OS X Server app for Mountain Lion, just drag the application into the trash and delete it.

Dragging Server.app out of the Applications folder will cause it to automatically self-disable all server functionality.
