The Late 2009 iMac supports 16 GB of memory, so you can install 8 GB of memory (4x2 GB) without any problem. You can buy the memory in OWC or Crucial.

Feb 2, 2013 10:07 PM in response to burned2009by Dah•veed,Mactraker says that your iMac can only support a total of 16 GB of RAM, which would be any combo of the correct RAM that adds up to 16. If you installed two 8 GB RAM bars, you would need to remove the factory installed RAM.
